July 3, 2015 - Ariel Churchman sits in her kitchen as she bounces her 2-year-old daughter, Le-Naya, in her lap while waiting for the arrival of relatives for July 4th activities. Churchman's daughter suffers from asthma and requires breathing treatments every other day. "She had to do 24 hours at Le Bonheur (Children's Hospital) for her breathing," Churchman says. "She was wheezing real bad, she was short of breath. They had to give her oxygen for 12 hours." A third of the 24 units in the complex have at least one tenant diagnosed with asthma or bronchitis illness, according to an informal survey conducted by The Commercial Appeal. (Yalonda M.
