February 18, 2015 - Yvette Churchman's niece, Damia Fason (left), 10, keeps herself occupied as her 11-year-old cousin, Jala Churchman, holds her 1-year-old brother, Darrin Churchman, while Churchman, 27, sleeps on the bedroom floor at Cypress Gardens in North Memphis. For over a year, the Churchman family has lived in deplorable conditions at the Section 8 apartment complex. Inside their home, they have bulging shelves, bedbug infestations, mold and mildew, and busted pipes.
