A nurse tucks Senait Kifle's 81-year-old father, Ghebremichael Ghebreselasie, into bed during her visit to Gateway Care and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, April 24, 2020, in Hayward, Calif. Ghebreselasie has tested positive for COVID-19 while recovering from hip surgery at the facility. His family called 911 Friday after he complained of chest pain and an infection in his leg. An ambulance took Ghebreselasie to St. Rose Hospital to be evaluated in the ER. The medical staff found a tumor in Ghebreselasie's lung as well as an ulcer in his left leg. Being that his vitals were good, the hospital returned him to Gateway. "We are out on limbo," Kifle said. "I feel like this is a nightmare. It's really sad and he's getting worse."
